Solange Knowles is a race-baiting diva…. Solange responded to the messages by explaining that it was much deeper than just "being asked to sit down at a concert". In the blog she used her experience at the concert, as well as anecdotes taken from others, to describe feelings of isolation as a person of colour in "predominately white spaces". She said her husband Ferguson asked the women if they'd thrown rubbish at his wife. One woman replied: "I just want to make it clear, I wasn't the one who yelled those horrible, nasty things at you.
Solange wrote: "This led me to believe they were saying things way worse than what I heard, but I'm not surprised at that part one bit. What I did indeed say is 'This is why many black people are uncomfortable being in predominately white spaces' and I still stand true to that. Still, I can remember the time that I did get to see her and relive the memories. See her if you get the chance - her shows sell out quick!
Ethereal, hopeful, humble, powerful The show was focused on everyone, a celebration of culture, love, identities, and struggle. I love that she made it more about the group on stage as a whole than just her- Tons of stage presence nonetheless. Beautiful band, beautiful backup singers.
The lighting was amazing and the stage was so well done and simple. Solange holds her own and I cannot wait to see her when she comes back. Flying Lotus was an absolute trip as well. I wish she would've brought Kelela out on this date Scales is such a beautiful song and I'd of loved to see it live with them two. Solange was incredible she had us on our feet pretty much straight away I really LOVE it, she interacted with the audience and just just on a great show The show was absolutely incredible!!
Solange's stage presence and visuals made it such an amazing experience. Theatre was great too! Would definitely see her again in concert! Had great experience from buying tickets to attending venues. One of the best performers I have ever seen. Fantastic songwriting, set design, and choreography.
We also loved the Orpheum Theatre -- such a neat venue. Overall a great time. See all photos See all posters View all past concerts. Want to see Solange in concert?
